If I could ask God for anything?

I was once asking people "If I could ask God for anything and it would come to me but at the end of it, it had to give glory to Gods name. What would I ask for?" 

It didn't know how to answer that question I thought about that question for a very long time before I came up with an appropriate answer I had to seek out information from others and there responses. 

When I was asking this question to others, their was many different reaction which surprised me. Some new right away. Others where brought to tears and some scoffed at the idea that God cares for man kind and others left pondering the question as I was. 

I had asked two people that had answered the same way "To know there purpose in life." I thought that that was such a beautiful answer and decided that was how I was going to answer that question. I was still asking others how they would answer "If I could ask God for anything and it would come to me but at the end of it, it had to give glory to Gods name. What would I ask for?" because the results I was getting where very interesting to me. 
Then one day I was at work and I asked another Christian man an I don't quiet remember how he answered but he asked me to how I would answer. He is the only who actually asked me back in return too. When I replied to know my purpose in life he laughed, clapped his hand. "Our purpose in life is to praise God!" He so easily answered that question and a mind shift was falling upon me like an acme cartoon.
