Everyone likes to be chosen, to feel important but regardless of your circumstances, remember that you are chosen by God and loved by him as well. Why did he chose you?
He chose you not because of anything you have done but simple because He loves you. We all have a special place in this world. It may not be to become rich and famous like me. Just kidding. I'm not rich or famous yet ?_?
But all jokes aside how do you act toward the property that you love. Your PlayStation, your car. What would you if something happened to it? You would be devastated. You would go to greaat lengths to avoid a catastrophe to protect what is yours. Now what would you do to protects the people in your life that you love?
God loves us not for what we do! He chooses to love each and everyone of us and if we except his grace and Love openly God will do the same for us as you would do your car, PlayStation, or loved one.

Deuteronomy 7:6-8
6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
7 The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
